PERFORMER INFORMATION
• All songs presented will be subject to review by staff members
• No song over 5 minutes in length
• All genres are permitted providing the songs submitted fit within the guidelines set out in these rules
• Songs containing vulgarity, violence, or offensive subjects will not be allowed. Any performer submitting a song that the staff deems inappropriate or questionable will be asked to submit a different song
• Single performers and duets only (See rules governing )
• Two performers submitting the same song is acceptable. However, the performers will be notified of this fact and offered the opportunity to submit a different song. Should the duplicity remain, staff will do everything within their power to ensure these performances are not too close together.
The winner will have the opportunity to record a song at Robin Hood Studios in Tyler, Texas. The recording may be done in karaoke style or with a live band. The winner must work out the details with Robin. Karaoke Kontests will not supply a band.
The top 3 performers will be barred from participating in the next event presented by Karaoke Kontests.
DUETS
• A duet will be considered a single-act
• The duet will pay a single-entry fee
• The duet must proceed through the entire event as a duet
• Only a single prize will be awarded a duet should they be in the final 3
ENTRY FEE
An entry fee of $40 must be paid by each performer/act.
Entry fee and the titles of both songs that the performer wishes to perform must be submitted no less than 2 weeks before the event. The order in which the submissions are received will determine the order of the performances. The songs submitted should include the title of the song and the name of the recording artist whose style the performer wishes to emulate. Our disc jockey will verify the song and artist with the performer on the day of the event.
By submitting now, you allow Karaoke Kontests staff time to review your song submissions and offer to let you submit a different song should your submission not be within our family-friendly guidelines or if there are duplicate songs submitted.
However, you will not be entered into the competition queue until your entry fee is received. The sooner you submit your fee, the higher you will be in the queue.
If the event is canceled for any reason, the performers will receive a full refund. If it becomes necessary to postpone the event due to inclement weather or for any other reason, the fee will be transferred to the new date of the event.
