GENERAL INFORMATION

VENUE

There will be no charge for audience admission. 40 karaoke performers will compete over a 2-day competition vying for the grand prize of $500 and a chance to record a song in Robin Hood Studios. 2nd and 3rd place finishers will also receive monetary prizes of $200 and $100, respectively.
Day 1 will have each performer sing 2 songs over 2 rounds of competition. At the end of the 2nd round, the 15 performers receiving the most votes will be announced and will advance into the semifinals to be held on the 2nd day.
Day 2 will have the top 15 performers participate in 2 rounds, again, singing 1 song in each round. The top 5 performers will then compete in 2 rounds to determine the overall winners.

VOTING

8 tables will be set up, 4 on each side of the audience seating area, and screened off from the audience view. These 2 sets of tables will each have 40 containers numbered to correspond to the numbers assigned to the performers. The audience will purchase voting cards for $1 each and will place their voting cards in the container corresponding to their favorite performers. The voting cards will be collected by staff members and counted at the end of each stage of the competition and will determine which performers will advance in the competition, culminating with an overall winner.

The audience may vote as often and for as many performers as they wish. They may change their vote by placing more voting cards in the container of a performer than they had placed in the container of a previous performer. I.E.; a member of the audience places 2 voting cards in the container for an early performer, but they later change their mind after they hear a later performer. The audience member can then place 4 voting cards in the container for the later performer, thereby negating their previous 2 votes for the earlier performer.

BREAKS AND INTERMISSIONS

After the first 20 performances, a 10-minute break will be taken. An extended intermission (30 minutes or more) will be taken between rounds. Another 10-minute break will be taken in the middle of the second round.
